How do I send a Pinger message?

To Send:

  1. Call Pinger  858-2PINGER (858-274-6437) or your Pinger Number  what's this?

No waiting for five rings. No hearing the stupid gratuitous greeting that wastes your mobile minutes.
Not in the US?  Find a Pinger number in your country.

  2. Say the name (person or group) or enter any mobile number

No "press 5 to page", or "press 2 to leave a number"... and don't you already know to leave your message after the tone?

To Listen:

  1. Open the text notification.

See who the message is from, how long it is and when it was sent BEFORE listening.

  2. Call the number in the text by just pressing a button or two.

With a lot of phones you can just click on the number to call it. Maybe the Green TALK button or OPTION and EXTRACT.

  3. Reply!

Press 1 to reply back, 2 to hear again, 4 to forward it. Or just hang up.

Is it free?

Pinger is free. Pinger does not charge anything to send or listen to messages. Your mobile phone provider's standard phone and messaging rates will apply, but using Pinger can help keep those wasted voicemail minutes to a minimum. We plan to keep Pinger free for most users forever.

Can I send a Pinger message to a group?

One of Pinger's most powerful features is the ability to instantly send or trade voice messages to a large or small group with only one call. .

    • let your family know you are running late.
    • "accidentally" cancel your extended family picnic.
    • forward off-color jokes to your entire fraternity.
    • message your entire team about the big win.
    • send a message from your car without typing.
    • organize a night out with the girls.

Whatever you use it for it's a great way to get a lot of people coordinated quickly and easily.

How do I message a group?

There are two ways to send Pinger messages to groups:

    1. Call Pinger (858-2PINGER or 858-274-6437) or your Pinger Number at and say the names.
    2. Create a group you can use over & over again.  Simply register online (US & Candian mobile numbers only). For example, create the group "Roller Boogie Dance Squad". That way, when you call Pinger, just say "Roller Boogie Dance Squad" to send a message to the whole group.
* Group recipients can reply or forward by hitting a single button so it's fast and easy to message back just to you or to the whole group.

* Make sure you tell your group members to try Pinger as well—that way they can send their own Pinger messages in addition to responding to yours.

Why haven't I received my text verification message yet?

If you are a US or Canadian user and have registered via the web, you will receive a verification code within moments after you have entered your 10-digit mobile number during registration.  If you don't receive this message there could be a couple of reasons why:

  1. Make sure that you have text messaging enabled for your phone.  Even though you get messages from your carrier, make sure that you can get messages from a Third Party, such as a friend.
  2. You could be out of the service area for your carrier.  If you don't have a signal on your mobile phone, then you won't get the text message.
  3. If you can't wait to get started, simply dial 858 2 PINGER and follow the prompts to send your first message.

If you are experiencing one of the problems above, that's okay.  You will just need to make sure to get text messaging enabled so you can enjoy the full experience of Pinger or finish the registration process when your phone is in a service area for your carrier..  For most carriers, dialing 611 will connect your with your carrier so you can ask for text messaging.
